SINGAPORE IMMERSION PROGRAMME
SIS Primary & Secondary students joined the Singapore Immersion Programme from 7th – 9th September 2009 and visited the Australian International School and the Avondale Grammar School.

SIS PERFORMANCE
Continuing from the 2008 success, in 2009 Singapore International School (Indonesia) presented its annual Musical of the classic tale “Sleeping Beauty”.  Showcasing the acting, singing and dancing abilities of our students the show was held on:

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.  Nowadays, Chinese New Year has been acknowledged as an Indonesian national holiday and has become an integral part of Indonesian cultural appreciation.

Diversity of culture at Singapore International School is an essential element of our programme.  SIS Bona Vista celebrated Chinese New Year on February 12th 2010 with the support of Carrefour.

LANGUAGE WEEK CELEBRATION

Language Week is a greatly anticipated event when students show their skills in communication using various means allowing them to express themselves in different ways.

This year, with “Expression” as our theme, we will be holding competitions such as Spelling B, Call My Bluff, Action Poetry Recital, Story Telling, Character Parade, Debates, Skits and Essay Writing. Mascots from different book publishers will be in the library providing information for students about books and offering reductions on books during the event. Language Week will be held from 3rd to 5th March 2010.

OPEN HOUSE MARCH 2010

SIS Bona Vista Open House, for new parents and students wishing to get more information on our campus, will be held on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th March.   On the day there will be academic presentations from the Principal, school tours and an insight into the daily activities of our students and their performances during language week.

SIS GROUP OF SCHOOL ‘SIS OLYMPICS’

SIS Olympics is a SIS wide event that involves hundreds of competitors from all SIS schools.  The 2009 SIS Olympics was held at ISCI while this year’s SIS Olympics will be held from 11th to 13th March at Soemantri Brodjonegoro Student Sports Complex and other venues around Jakarta.  SIS students throughout Indonesia have trained long and hard to compete in sports such as basketball, soccer, javelin, sprint, relay, badminton, golf, tennis, table tennis, swimming and many others.  Let’s see who takes home the medals!

GOVERNORS CUP 2010

In 2010, four Jakarta based SIS schools participated in a Futsal Tournament featuring SIS Kelapa Gading, SIS Kebon Jeruk, SIS Pantai Indah Kapuk and SIS  Bona Vista. 

 

This was the second Governors Cup having successfully played the outdoor version last year at SIS Kelapa Gading school fields. Many sponsors have been involved these last two years for which they need to be recognized and thanked as do the many other stakeholders and supporters who made the annual event so successful. These included students, parents, teaching and non – teaching staff, sponsors and friends of the SIS Group of Schools.

Four age groups were catered for this year: U10, U12, U14 and U16. This year the tournament was based on a round robin system played between 9am – 2.30pm at a Futsal specific facility, near Pondok Indah Mall, Pro Arena.
