These are some of the questions I have been asking myself as the Head of school (and I have been discussing them with the SIS faculty). At Singapore International School (Indonesia), the centre point of concentration is the SIS students’ profile. An holistic approach is being used to develop the attributes of this profile coupled with SIS values to be an essential part of their character building. A very positive, high-tech, international environment is provided to facilitate an excellent standard of education which promotes an international viewpoint, truth, fairness, justice, compassion and inculcates responsibility and independence among SIS students.

Students are given opportunities to exercise and develop skills like critical thinking and decision making through experiential learning. Students from 35 different nationalities are given the opportunity to look at issues from different perspectives, identify biases and develop a fuller understanding of the issues whilst working together in teams in racial harmony. Strong emphasis is given to communication, independence, and responsibility.

The positive and competitive learning environment encourages students to optimize their potential and become life long learners. We aim to develop a happy, positive and pleasant environment where all students in the SIS community have mutual respect for each other. We believe in shared responsibility and close cooperation with parents for the growth and development of their children.
